You're right, my original post was a little "tantrum"-like.... I probably should've thought for a day or two before posting. I appreciate your cool-headed reply. Your second post helped me understand a bit better what kind of service you offer. I can relate to "handicaps of home lighting or photography".... In case you're wondering, my tantrum was after meeting a girl I thought was perfectly attractive and getting feedback from other people that I could "do better" as far as her looks were concerned. To me those remarks showed both insensitivity to the girl and sinat chinam in general because I mamash thought she was pretty. I was insulted for her sake and was frustrated at how shallow people are... Then I came upon your post... Best of luck with your service... Kol Tuv. |

UGH, your post is "mamash" disturbing on so many levels. There is no sinat chinam in saying that person is fugly. It's sad that you have no backbone and need your friends to approve your dates and how the immature remarks of your friends can ruin a potential relationship. You are correct, though, that I should pay careful attention to making my own dating decisions and ignore "well meaning" friends while only giving weight to what my Rav or another serious authority says.
