Getting smicha in the Yeshiva of life
About Me:
I have a pretty typical story of college student turned political activist turned existentialist turned spiritual seeker turned group therapist turned vegan chef.
I guess my life is about a search for balance: between the emotional and the intellectual, the spiritual and the earthy, the local and the universal. Its all about being present in the moment, and inventing sugar free pastries, and letting go when dancing, and walking bare foot on wet grass, and fighting for a worthy cause, and being in love and building a family.
So I am a scholar of life and myself. A builder, a hiker, a poet, a seeker, a brother, a teacher.
And I think that life is awesome. Its colors. Its shapes. Its tastes and smells. This is a beautiful, complicated, messy, karmic world, and I see it a gift meant to be savored and shared with others. And my life is the daily grind of conquering my fears, exploring my creativity, mapping out my joy, and improving my relationships in the goal of becoming the person that I can feel dancing inside of me.
I love talking to people and listening to their lives. Yes everyone has issues, but also victories, and hopes and dreams - and its in the mix of all of it that our beauty and uniqueness is born. And this is probably my biggest reason for traveling - getting outside of my emotional and geographic comfort zone to meet people that can share their part of the world with me.

I'm Looking For:
I believe in investing my life into doing my part to move humanity towards living a life of increased consciousness of both our emotional world and the spiritual dimension; existing in a state of presence and wellbeing; having more internal acceptance and external giving; and doing less things out of fear and anger. I want everyone to be able to have better relationships with God, others, and themselves. I want to there to be more happily married people who embody their feelings in children that know they are being loved simply for existing. I want there to be less pollution, less junk, less debris between people and their ability to empathize with each other and celebrate their God given differences. And since I want to practice what I preach, right now, as Ghandi said, I am trying to be the change that I want to see in the world. |
Interests:
I love hiking and being in nature. I love asking provacative questions and being fully honest with people. And I would rather do that than club or bar hop. I love deep conversation where you get to see new levels of yourself and the other person.
I am very into alternative therapy - and very willing to learn new techniques and share my experiences on the matter. |
