About Me:
Take a Fun loving, happy go lucky guy, add in a friendly Midwestern laid back attitude, a nice smile, a good blend of Torah values--generously spice with a Chasidic passion for life--and you will have a good picture of me!! |
I'm Looking For:
A sweet fun loving open minded Aishes Chayil who is committed to building a family and a home steeped in Torah and love of Hashem. |
Interests:
Playing and (sometimes) watching sports, reading, writing, theater, movies, talking with friends, learning Chasidic meditations on the weekly Torah parsha and fixing electronics. |
Music:
I have very eclectic tastes in music. My tastes range from classic rock, 80's progressive, 90's grunge, classical music,Chicago blues all the way to Chasidic Nigunim. |
Television:
I love stories--reading, watching, hearing, etc. I gravitate to interesting stories and love to explore how they are told and analyze the details. The source of the story can vary from a Chasidic discourse on the weekly parsha to a well crafted movie or TV show.
While I watch an occasional TV show via the internet, I don't "watch TV". To me watching TV connotes a meditative process of vegetating on a couch for hours at a time while mindless pictures and sounds endlessly numb your brain until either your supply of snack food runs out or the call of nature comes. |
Books:
When I have time to read, I usually gravitate towards books on Torah, history and politics (or books that combine all three!!). I know, not very exciting, but I love to learn and fill my head with facts (both useful and otherwise) and lost the patience to read novels (too long to wait between useful facts).
I admit I have been cheating lately and mixing in the occasional novel via audio book on my iPhone during my daily commute. So far, I have "read" via audio book The World According to Garp, The Great Gatsby, War and Peace, Slaughterhouse Five, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang (hey I am just a kid at heart) and many others to go along with John and Abigail Adams, 1776, The Biography of Benjamin Franklin, etc. |
Heros:
Politicians, sports stars, musicians and actors are amongst the most talented people on the earth, but also amongst the most flawed and should not be idolized. The people whom I admire the most are ordinary people who rise far above their limitations and elevate the world around them. |
